Connor had his 5-month birthday 2 days ago and he is doing so well. One of his two recent milestones has been eating baby food. So far, he has tried rice, oatmeal, green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, pears, prunes, and bananas. He eats them all up with force! We can't give it to him fast enough...He shows us his desire for more with a wide open mouth and a little bob to the head; it's so funny!
His second milestone is sitting up unassisted.

He does so well and we are very impressed by his strong core! Our little boy is constantly trying to sit up from a laying down position and gets very frustrated when he is unable to pull up all the way, but with a little help from us, he gets there.
Connor is thoroughly enjoying his new perspective on life.

It's like all his toys are new to him now.

Don't get me wrong, he still really loves his activity mat with the blinking sun on top, but his awareness of other things around him is astounding. Any other noise or toy nearby, and he is on it! This morning, I actually caught him trying his hardest to get his Red Sox ball that was rolling away from him by scooting up on his belly, slowly but surely.
The proud look on his face during all these new adventures reassures Tom and I that we are doing the best we can in helping our Little Man grow independently as his own little being, and all the while being there to support him when he needs us most.
