I can't even believe that little pudgy face was only a year ago. It's been so fun watching our little guy grow. It happens so fast! This year was a little less organized and a little more last minute, but that's what I expected with a 9-month-old who is on the move and wants to put everything in her mouth!
I think they came out great, and I look forward to the years when these two goofballs can put their own ideas into these pictures for there Dad!
Father's Day was great. I am very fortunate to have two great men in my life. My Dad has always told me that I can accomplish anything I want to. He was and is always supportive of my decisions, even if it meant going through four years of college to then go to esthetic school to become an esthetician. He never once showed any disappointment in me; only pride. Alden always wants the best for me. I'll never forget the day my parents helped me move into my dorm room freshman year of college (45 minutes away from home). My dad held me so tight and was literally sobbing on my shoulder because he didn't want to let me go. But, he did. Then, I got married. He didn't want to let me go. But, he did. And then I left again to Charlotte, NC. He didn't want to let me go. But, he did. And, then he followed. Ha! We are so blessed to have my parents close by. I am especially thankful that Connor (and someday, Ellie) has such a beautiful connection to my parents, especially his Papa. I never doubted my dad would be an amazing Papa. It truly is a miraculous thing to watch.
And, Tommy. Well, what can I say about Tommy? He is such a loving daddy. So patient. So kind. So willing to help. I was obviously excited to have a little girl. I was also apprehensive because Connor and I share a distinctive "mother/son" bond, and I was nervous that a new baby would take away from that. It didn't. Once Eliana was born, Tom told me, " I feel different with her. She's my little girl." I know that he and Ellie are going to have a "father/daughter" bond distinctive to them. I know this because I'll always be Daddy's Little Girl, too...
Thanks, Tommy for all that you are and all that you do. Our son and daughter have an amazing Daddy to look up to.
So, so sweet!
