Home is Where the Heart Is

It's been only three months that we have settled into our new home. I feel like we've been living here forever! This house was so meant to be for us. Sure, there are many projects we would like to get done, both big (think 4-season porch) and small, but that is all going to come in time. I don't think I  ever explained just how this house came about.

Tom and I talked about the possibility of selling our first Charlotte home earlier last year. Connor was starting Kindergarten that fall, and we needed some more space. For months, we searched on the internet, I drove around to various neighborhoods in my spare time, but we were just never really ready to let go of that house.

Finally, in May, I decided that this one area was the place. Tom and I have always loved it, with it's close proximity to shops, restaurants, and parks/playgrounds.  I searched online endlessly, (seriously everyday) revisited many new homes with my friend, Mary, and finally found 1708 Catherine Lothie Way. I just had a feeling about it.

August came around and we decided to bite the bullet and start talking to realtors. I saw at least 30 homes, but nothing compared to this one house. I would look at it online and hold my breath to not see an "under contract" sign. We listed our Seamill house, and failed at selling it miserably. We figured all was meant to be, and it was fine. We had amazing neighbors and friends, and all was good. Then, our amazing second realtor came into our lives, and everything took off.

I asked her to reach out to the owners of our new house and see if there was anyway they would take an offer with a contingency to sell our home, thinking that was a shot in the dark. Lo and behold, they said yes! Our realtor helped us see our options to rent out our home, and everything fell into place. We found some amazing renters, had a final walk-through of our new home, and here we are! This home I've been eyeing since May is now ours. Updated interior pics to come!

Home Sweet Home

Eliana is enjoying her new bedroom, playroom, and her friends at school!

Connor is a proud OPES Eagle! He had an excellent first report card, and was voted Student of the Month for January!
