Bathtime for a Big Boy!

Connor is turning 4 on Saturday. I realize that soon enough, he will be primarily taking showers. He is already aware of how quick a shower is and that it gives him more time to play before bed. As I look at these pictures, I see so much of my baby boy, but I also see the transformation Connor is taking towards looking like a really big boy! He has lost all of his baby fat that he had even just last year when he turned 3. His muscle tone is taking shape and his words are articulate, funny, and mean so much.

Connor will always be my baby boy, no matter how old he is or how big he will grow.

"And she loved a little boy very, very much-
Even more than she loved herself."
-Shel Silverstein (The Giving Tree)

Shoes

It's no secret that there are shoes strewn all over the house every. single. day.
I am no saint. They are mostly mine. I try to put them where they belong, but I just can't do it captain!
(What movie? What movie?)

These itty bitty Adidas are the only ones that don't get into my psyche. They are a precursor to the days my baby girl comes home from sports practice and lazily takes off her sneakers, while swiping her sweaty forehead with the back of her hand. She will then walk swiftly over to the fridge and grab some ice water or perhaps even take a swig of the cold OJ straight out of the bottle. Of course, I'll hasten her for doing such a nasty "guy" thing, but will smirk because I once did that too. My favorite girl will then walk upstairs to shower, change, and maybe talk on the phone or do her homework. As she does so, she will blindly step over her dirty sneakers, and not even give them a second thought. I will probably yell her full name, "Eliana Marie Richardson," and tell her that I am not her maid, and for her to pick up her sneakers this instant. She'll pretend not to hear me, and I will sigh, pick up the shoes, and put them where they belong, while smirking a knowing smile the whole way.

"This is the time to remember, cause it will not last forever."

A Girl and her Trucks

Ok, so they are Connor's trucks, but she has every right to love them too (until Mommy takes them away so she doesn't choke on the tires).

Connor does have quite the influence on her because, just today, she crawled over to his puzzles and screamed in delight at his Cars ones. Too funny.

8-months

I see a theme here. And it's called, "time flies." I honestly can't believe that my last post was so long ago. I am so busy, that it is hard for me to even sit down long enough and think clearly to write. My mind is going in a thousand different directions these days, with summer plans needing to be scheduled, Connor's birthday coming up, Father's Day, friend time, couple's time,
etc, etc.
Anyhoo, Ellie is 8-months old. Remember in my last post (it was so long ago, you probably don't) when I said Ellie was content to just sit and play with no interest to crawl? Well, that's not so true anymore. She is going, going, and going! She crawls on her hands and knees unlike Connor did. He much preferred the army crawl. Ellie is also standing up on her toy box and getting into Connor's toys too (much to our dismay).

Ellie has also since gotten her first set of teeth! See em?

Connor, as always, is enjoying being a great big brother. He is relishing in the things big brothers can do, but baby sisters can't, like eat ice cream, stay up late(r) and play with certain toys. He truly loves her, and can be heard pretending to be mad at her, saying in a pretend-mad voice, " Ellie, I still love you, but I'm not playing with you anymore (pout face)."

Ellie squeals with delight when she sees her big brother. She basically jumps out my arms to get to him. He is the only one that can make her laugh sometimes. They wrestle, hug, and kiss. It's pretty awesome.  He also does the sweetest, caring, and loving things with her. Like this:

He just randomly laid down with his lil' sis and began stroking her hair, saying things like, "Hi baby Ellie," and "sweet baby girl."

God, I love those kids. They sure are something special.
