Trucks, SWAT, and Race Cars

These first few pictures are from when we were waiting for our family photo shoot (more on that later). But the others are from a Touch-a-Truck festival that we went to in Charlotte with our neighbor, Evan. It was really cool, and one of the best parts was when Ellie decided to get her face painted! Connor would never do that. He still won't.

 SWAT!

Sports

This spring has been BUSY! And it all started with baseball opening day. Everyone was excited. It all snowballed after that (not literally, like in New England). Connor's swim class came to an end, and he passed to the next level! He then started t-ball two days a week, and soccer one day.  Ellie has been going to The Little Gym one day a week, and she loves it. She is a fearless one.

We received an email from Connor's soccer coach saying that he depends on him to get the ball moving in the right direction and that he's a good player. Isn't that great?

Tom is an assistant coach on Connor's team. It's really fun to watch the both of them on the field.

Amazing Relationship

I always knew that giving Connor a sibling would be the best gift possible. Having a second child was, in no doubt, a definite plan (God willing). As my pregnancy with Ellie developed and my body was overwhelmed with a 9.2 lb baby, so was my mind! I started having second thoughts; wondering how I could possibly love someone more than I did Connor. How could I do this to him? How can I take my attention away from my blue-eyed boy?  Just look and see...

Now, he has somebody to "put to work," and
Ellie has a boy to show her how she should be treated.
They each have a snuggle buddy,
there are always smiles to share,
 and secrets to tell.
They have experiences to live, and
 more snuggles.
Happiness, love, fun, gratitude, generosity, compassion, dedication, family...

The answer was so simple. There is room in the heart for everyone you love. No room becomes too small. They all fit just right.

Rainbow Hike

I had my mom take Eliana one late morning so that I could pick Connor up from school, take him to lunch, and then on a hike. We had a great time! We decided it would be fun to take pictures of rainbow colors that we saw along the way... so we did. Rather, Connor did.

Red:  This is where it all started. Mickey D's. The red banner on the ice cream cone
But, then she saw the flag.
Orange clay. So beautiful. We know...

Yellow hydrant on our way to the trail                             Green trees. Gorgeous day.

Random blue mitten on the trail.

My purple water bottle. Finding purple along a trail of brown, orange and green proved difficult

And, yet, another random find: pink tissue paper

Connor is such a creature of habit. We took his picture ONCE in front of this fence, and now he needs to do it every time we walk by.

It was a great day with my little guy. It always is.

Catch Up

Yikes. My last post was in February! Between two kids, Connor's sports, laundry, food, working two part-time jobs, trying to get fit, and manning the house duties, I barely have time to hit "upload!" This blog is way on the bottom of the list. It's funny how much time one has with just one child. I think I updated this almost every single day when we had Connor! Anyhoo, here are some pictures of the last couple of months:
Mommy/Son date at Buffalo Wild Wings and The Lego Movie
Backyard Smores at one of our best friend's house (Wyatt and MacKenzie)

Mommy/Son lunch at MacDonald's. This was a fun day. We went hiking afterwards; just us.
(blog on that soon)

 Connor passes his swim level!
Ellie and Mommy often spend mornings at Starbucks
Connor and his buddy, Banks, were giving each other tattoos during a playdate
 Neighbor/friend fun!
Ellie looks like a lil' softball player here
Cute as a button, with a sweater circa 1982
 Shamrock 4 Miler!
 Love those blue eyes
 Seriously?!
