Car Wash

The weather has been very summer-like this week. Tom thought Sunday would be a great day to wash the car with Connor, and lil' man obliged, so they did!

Connor is a great little worker. He loves helping his Daddy do things. I think his favorite part was rinsing the car off and sneaking a squirt at Tom. :)

Valentine's Day 2012

Before the next holiday rolls upon us, I suppose I should post about Valentine's Day. Although I think it is a really meaningless holiday, I have to say, it is more fun when there are kids involved. Connor and I assembled these adorable Valentine's for his school friends:

And, Connor cooperated for a cute lil' photo shoot!

Oh Boy

Connor sure is ALL boy. He loves his trucks and cars. He drives them, talks to them, packs them in his dump truck and rolls them all around the house. Watching him at "work" really makes me happy.

Connor's Little Secret

It's been four months. I can't believe I haven't blogged about this!

It's been a long time coming. As most of you know, we have a hard time getting pregnant. We started trying when Connor was 1-1/2. Imagine our joy when, 1-year later, we saw two pink lines on a pregnancy test! We are overcome with joy and feel very blessed to be expecting baby #2 in August.

Connor talks about it a lot and is sure to be a great big brother. His patience, understanding, and enthusiasm has been awesome thus far. And, although, having a new little baby will definitely test these three attributes, we look forward to giving Connor a sibling!

Today marks the 16-week mark. I am starting to get a lil' bump:

A Text That Made me Cry

First of all, we are so blessed with and thankful for the school that Connor attends. His teachers are beyond thoughtful, caring, and filled with love. They truly have the best interest of Connor and his friends at heart. I get really excited when they share texts with me after the day is done when Lil' C has done something remarkable; something such as this one:

"Wanted to tell you. Connor did a great job being a friend to the new boy that visited today. He built towers with him, showed him where to go for circle time, and what to do with his seat cushion. He is an awesome kid! But I'm sure you already knew that!!!"

He makes me cry with tears of pride and joy. This is everything that makes a mama's heart happy. My one goal in life is for Tom and I to do our best to raise children with empathy, care, compassion, and love for other people. It seems like we are on the right track. Connor overwhelms me everyday with all he has to offer this world; all 2-1/2 years of him.  He is the light of my life; the apple of my eye. As a parent, you always think your son or daughter is the best thing in this world, but to hear it from other people? Well, there are just no words to explain...

Love ya, kid...

Grannie's Here! Grannie's Here!

Grannie came to visit. Wahoo! She and Connor had so much fun. They played with her new Ipad (oh boy!), did puzzles, read books, played with his cars, and hung out outside! We can't wait until she comes down again. We'll miss you Grannie!

5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Blastoff!

Connor is 2-1/2. Connor gets cranky. Connor gets moody. Connor, at times, gets bored with me.

Enter Daddy. Daddy is so much fun. Daddy can make Connor fly!

5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Blastoff!

Hold on tight!

 I'm flying!

Daddy makes Connor smile,

and, laugh,

and that makes me happy...
