9 Months and Waiting

Nobody tells you when they find out the good news of your pregnancy that "9 months" is really 10 months. 36 weeks have finally arrived and, although I could've figured it out earlier, we still have 4 weeks to go! Pregnancy is 40 weeks (10 months), not 9 like every book and fiction movie leads one to believe.

I have truly been blessed with an unbelievable, uneventful pregnancy. Sure, I have had minor pains and twinges, but really? Nothing unbearable. However, I can't say that I LOVE being pregnant like some women do. I have gotten used to the kicking, squirming, cellulite, and big butt and belly that it's hard to believe I won't feel the baby on the inside soon enough.

I am really ready to have "me" back for me. I do know my body probably won't be exactly the same, if fact, it won't be at all, and having my prepregnancy life back isn't going to happen either, but I am ready and excited to meet our baby boy or girl and have our world turned upside down in a good and different way.

  1. 10 months really is a LONG time...its almost a YEAR!!! It is strange and a little sad to know soon enough you won't feel the kicking and squirming, but actually seeing your little one, knowing this little person is a piece of you and the man you love, its INCREDIBLE!

However, it is OK to want to be alone in your body...I know I am running out of space in there LOL...but you LOOK GREAT!!!

  2. If women knew it was really 10 months no one would want to get pregnant ;) Enjoy the next four weeks of semi-peace and quiet!

  3. This is usally the longest time of pregnancy. But soon you will be hugging a new baby instead of you belly. What joy you will experience. You look awesome and you will get back your body unless you get pregnant again. :) then it will be 10 months all over again. I love you and wish I was there with you. mom
