It's a Boy!

Well, here he is folks...the suprise we have all been waiting for!

Tom and I would like to introduce our baby boy,

Connor Alden Richardson.

He was welcomed into our world on May 25, 2009 at 2:09 am.

He weighed in at 8 lbs. 8 oz.

We have had his name picked out since even before my pregnancy. Connor is Tom's Mom's maiden name and Alden is my Dad's name, so it was an easy choice for us. Luckily, it is a nice strong boys name, just like him! He was awake and alert at birth and 6 days later, he is already turning and lifting up his head!

The hours leading up to Connor's delivery were both surreal and bizarre. For one thing, my water broke as I was cleaning out Dr. Brown's baby bottles, and lo and behold, the doctor on call was Dr. Brown! Then, as soon as I told Tom the good news, it started torential downpouring outside, like God was trying to tell us something. 

 Overall, labor and delivery went very well. Tom and I were suprised how calm everything was (until the hour of pushing, of course). We thought it would be like that scene on License to Drive. Come on, you remember that one! Tom was disappointed he couldn't drive backwards the whole way to the hospital...haha...

I was able to get my epidural before I could feel any real painful contractions, and although pushing/giving birth was both horrifying and terrifying, it was pretty amazing!

Back at home, we are very tired and getting adjusted to life with our little man, but somehow everything works out and we are thankful every minute for this miracle in our lives.
