Happy Father's Day: Post #2

My previous blog about what a great husband and father Tom is really didn't lend any insight into how his Father's Day was. I just thought of this as I hit "publish post." There really was no place for this kind of post, though, so here it is in "Happy Father's Day: Post #2."

When asked how he wanted to spend Father's Day, Tom said he wanted to do the lawn. Not exactly what I would want to do on a 90 degree day, I thought, but, whatever, it's his day.

He didn't even want breakfast, so I made him a bowl of cereal. I know. Fun, huh? After breakfast, Connor gave him his gift. A pen holder for his office. I had taken him to a paint-your-own pottery place last week, and it came out great!

I found this photo of the Green Monster so long ago at Target, and held on to it for Tom's Father's Day present. He loved it! Here he and Connor are with his gifts. Connor is reading the Elmo book that he gave Tom to read to him. It plays "Take me Out to the Ballgame."

While Tom mowed, edged, and whatever else guys do to the lawn, Connor and I went out and bought everything we needed for Tom's special Father's Day dinner. We got roast beef, gravy, potatoes, corn, and Ceaser salad. Connor helped me make the mashed potatoes.

We think he enjoyed his day. And, when he went to his office today, with pen holder in hand, we hope he had a big smile on his face...
