Papa LOVES Connor, and Connor LOVES Papa. We frequently drive by the entrance to my parents' neighborhood to do our errands and such. Every time we do, Connor looks out the window and says, "Papa." It is astonishing to me how his little mind works. How does a 1 and 1/2 year old know where we are? He totally has Tom's sense of direction, that's for sure. And, for that, I am grateful.
Anyhoo, a few days ago, Connor was happy to be turning into their neighborhood rather than just passing by. Even more astonishing for my little guy was the concrete mixer and it's strong workers paving a walkway for Papa's new deck. Actually, he was a little grossed out because he kept saying, "ick" when the concrete poured into the wheelbarrow, but couldn't keep his eyes off of it just the same.
Then, came the super fun part! Connor made his hand prints at the beginning of the walkway for all visitors to see. Papa made his too. They are buddies and it was a great memory to be had.
Until...uh oh...Connor saw the mess on his hands!
He wasn't too happy about that, but it was quickly remedied by Mimi's quick hand washing.
Thanks, Papa. That was a fabulous day...
