Connor finally caught up to his Mommy! For those of you who don't know, I was 10 lbs. 2 oz. at birth...Yes, at birth. Well, Connor had his 1-month checkup today, and he weighed the same! He is becoming our lil' chunky monkey, most times eating 5 oz. already! I look at him now and think I have more appreciation for my Mom for giving birth to her own lil 10 lb. 2 oz. chunky monkey.
Connor is the same in height as he was at his 2-week checkup: 21 and 1/2 inches, leaving him in the 75 percentile. His head is also still in the 25 percentile, but the shape of his head looks great, so we are thankful for that.
He is definitely becoming more alert towards his surroundings and has been checking himself out in the mirror on his playmat! I mean, who wouldn't stare at themselves when you are that good looking?
After much deliberation, we have decided to switch Connor to formula. We have been giving it to him for the past week or so, and it has been going great, other than the projectile spitting up the past couple of days. The doctor said to monitor it and if it persists, she will give us a prescription for acid reflux. I think our little man is just a big piggie and eats too fast!
With the abrupt end of breastfeeding, Mommy has been left with a breast infection, called mastitis. It's a pretty horrible infection, leaving me with a fever of over 101.5 yesterday. But, I have been taking antibiotics since last night and am feeling a bit better today. Tom stayed home from work to take care of Connor while I get some rest. He is so wonderful...A man with loads of patience and the ability to make me smile even when I feel incredibly disgusting, emotional, and not the least bit attractive.
But, this too shall pass and soon we will see our Chunky Monkey smile and all will be well.
That's a beautiful picture of the 3 of you and he looks just like Tom!! I love it :) Feel better soon!
